An Ode to Danville

Nestled in the East Bay of California, Danville is approximately 45 miles east of San Francisco. Set in a narrow section of the San Ramon Valley with the Las Trampas Ridge to the west and the Diablo Range to the east. Mt Diablo, as our most prominent landmark, stands to the east at 3,849 feet, and provides a picturesque backdrop for Danville and neighboring towns and cities.  Summers are long, with many hot days and cool nights. Our summers are extremely dry and not uncommon for four to six months to elapse with no rain.  Winters are cool, with mild daytime temperatures, and even sunny weather is quite common in midwinter. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total of 18 square miles.
I've had the pleasure of living, raising my family and working in real estate over the past 25 years, right here in Danville. Many of our clients and agents choose to live within these communities for the Arts and Culture (Blackhawk and San Ramon Valley Museums), our historic sites (All Wars Memorial, Eugene O’Neill National Historic Site) and our numerous hiking and biking trails throughout. The Iron Horse Regional Trail runs through Danville. It was first a railroad that has been converted to an 80 foot wide corridor, spanning 27.7 miles of bike and hike trails with controlled intersections, extending from Livermore to Concord. The locale is a reasonable commute to San Francisco and to the Silicon Valley. Located in the heart of Danville is a vibrant downtown with quaint restaurants lining Hartz Avenue. A fun fact: A scene from Mrs. Doubtfire was filmed in Danville’s very own, Bridges Restaurant! We are very fortunate to have our San Ramon Valley Unified School District receive National Blue Ribbon or State Distinguished School distinctions more than 50 times over the past 10 years. This is what keeps our home values desirable and has been a magnet for those families looking to have the private school feel within a public school setting. Our community continues to thrive to maintain a small town feel with the 4th of July Parade, Hot Summer Car Shows, Fall Festivals in October and Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremonies in December.  You may be surprised to know that Danville has 275 Compass agents, spread across 3 locations. We are very proud of all of our agents that have done a miraculous job of working  remotely since mid March due to COVID. June and July were the busiest months in incepted sales over our last 2 years. Our market share for the Diablo Valley, including our neighboring cities is over 23%!
Lastly, I thank our Compass Agents and Staff for using their time over the past months to sharpen their tools during the pandemic. We are so fortunate and lucky to have the opportunities that Compass has provided that continuously put our agents at the center of the transaction. This ensures our agents success in managing the complex relationships that home sellers and buyers have to navigate.
